Paws up for Pawesome

What a beautiful time of year, the weather is finally starting to warm up, the wildflowers are out and we couldn’t be happier! That sure was a long, cold & wet winter – our first winter living in Margaret River and who would’ve thought it could be so different to Perth winter? We had to buy a fireplace and drink SO much red wine just to keep ourselves from getting hypothermia!

After a long and gruelling submission process which caused a lot of excess wine drinking – we are excited to announce that we have been listed as a finalist in the WA Tourism Awards for “New Tourism Business” – we are thrilled to have made it this far, the finalists are announced in November at a Gala Dinner in Perth. We are so thrilled to be recognised by the industry for all of the hard work we have put into making Grape Escape what it is!

We have had a busy few months with a huge increase in our Pawesome Tours! We put this down to the good word of our loyal customers spreading and after having articles published by Urban List as well as 92.9.

In case you missed it…

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE REGION

  • Gourmet Escape is just around the corner with such an abundance of amazing events this year it is something not to be missed! If you are looking for a private charter to take you to some of these awesome activities then get in touch and we can help you plan the day.

  • Tash Sultana & Summer Salt – we are organising special wine tours around the two concerts at 3 Oceans on 2nd & 9th December. If you are interested in buying tickets we are doing a half-day wine tour with lunch at Xanadu before taking you to & from the concert afterwards.

  • A new & wonderful dog friendly café has opened up in Witchcliffe – Yardbyrd. We are thrilled to have discovered this place, it has a great well priced breakfast menu, is BYO and they do great chai tea & coffee! With a 360 degree fireplace the fit out is super funky and just what Witchcliffe needed!

ACCOMMODATION

We have discovered a few great dog friendly places to stay while you are visiting the region!

  • Silversprings Cottages – a really great location central to lots of great wineries and very close to the Beer Farm.

  • Prevelly Beachside Villas – with the weather warming up this is right in the heart of Prevelly, nice & close to the dog beach and right near Sea Circus Café.

WINE OF THE MOMENT

As usual there are so many great wines around at the moment. The Marq wines Gamay came & went in a matter of weeks (we are lucky to still have a few bottles of it), but what is exciting for now is all of the new release Rosé wines starting come out which is going to be our drink of choice for those hot summer days ahead. There are so many different styles around but our favourites are the completely dry style with beautiful fresh, crisp acidity & fruit sweetness. Some of our favourites are from Windance, Marq, Cape Grace & Juniper!

Bring on summer!

“I only drink champagne when I’m happy and when I’m sad. Sometimes I drink it when I’m alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I’m not hungry and drink it when I am, otherwise I never touch it – unless I am thirsty.” – Madame Emily (Lily) Bollinger from Bollinger Champagnes France
